Cast

I meet and interact with quite a lot of people over the course of my travels. It would be darn near impossible to introduce them all. Of course, most of them are introduced at some point in various posts or vlogs. Still, I thought I'd give you a little cheat sheet, to help you keep track of some of the main characters.

The immediate family:

Lisa
Or as I like to call her, Mom, married to Jim. We could also call her the TripAdvisor Wizard. She's the one who organizes all our trips, and makes sure we get from point A to point B. Usually by taking the scenic route, or as I like to call it, the weird ally through someone's private farm a good half hour out of our way. She also checks to see if I've packed a hat and pair of gloves. She advocates for the family when we're all starving, but Dad is ready to fast if that means we can squeeze in one more monument.

Jim
AKA Dad, married to Lisa. He's the one who got me started on this whole blogging thing. Also the guy who makes these travels possible and lists us on the flights. He's also the one who makes sure Grady and I pack at least one violin between the two of us, but he's also usually the one who carries it. Unless he's getting the rental car, or checking us into the hotel. If we're on the beach, he's the first one snorkeling, and if we're in a "no photos" museum, he's the first one to take a photo.

Grady
She would be my little sister, and she has about a billion nick names. She might be referred to as Micky, or Bird, or Durd, or Twerp, or Margrethe, which is actually her full name... I don't know use context to figure out if she's there. She's usually there. She's the first person I'll get into a squabble with on a road trip, although to be fair, I'm pretty easy to aggravate, at least on a road trip. She's also most likely to take a nap, unless we're on a river cruise, and then it's me.

Some other travel buddies:
The Friction Family
The Frictons, Jim, Delia, Vince and Regina, are great family friends, who we love to travel with. Regina is my age, and she's a regular on the blog, and in some vlogs as well. Our families get along great, so it's not unusual for us to be traveling together.

Alec, Celeste and Keaton
These three are some of my friends from high school who came with on a trip to Italy. While most of my blog posts from that trip have been copied onto this blog, we actually created a whole new blog for ourselves, Standby Spring Break. What pals. They were a blast to travel with! Round two? Keaton and Celeste both also were with me on a choir tour in Chicago, and Celeste and I went to California together, and Keaton and I to Montana. Phew. Lots of travels.

The Shoutouts
Periodically I'll give someone from home a shoutout on one of my vlogs. They're usually a friend or family member from home, and I'll give them a shoutout when I see something that reminds me of them. Just a fun little way to say "Hey! I'm thinking about you!"
